LONER Vol. 1
This one is a tricky one. I was growing old of drawing comics around this time. It was kind of the same thing I had when I stopped making Smiley comics for a year. I was bored with drawing comics. Thats when I saw a little movie called “Joker”. Yes, at the time the movie was very mixed with people, but I loved how the movie portrayed itself as an even darker version of Gotham with The Joker. But the important thing about Joker was that it got me to watch more Martin Scorsese. That’s when I watched “Taxi Driver” for the first time. I fell in love with that film and how it portrayed loneliness in such a dark way. That’s what inspired me to think of my comics differently and instead of drawing a comic like a comic book, I looked at them more as a storyboard for a movie or tv series. Thats when I thought of “Loner” as my take on Taxi Driver and that view on loneliness.
In Jito Studios Comics, I like to think there are three or four eras. The first one being Smiley, the second one being Grave-Horror, and the third being the “Jito Studios Presents” era which would branch off into more areas that aren’t just horror or smiley. Loner was the start of the Presents era.
Loner is such a weird comic series for me. I tried being as rated r as possible in the sense that it was mimicking Taxi Driver and Joker. In doing that, there is some “nudity” so just be warned with that. It was a weird time for me so here ya go.
